Playa Largo Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, announces the return of Chef Brian Archibald as executive chef. In his role, Archibald will lead the resort’s culinary operations across its four dining concepts, private dining experiences, seasonal programming and banquet offerings.

Archibald returns to Playa Largo with 27 years of food and beverage experience at luxury hotels and resorts across the country. He most recently served as executive chef of Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, where he led the culinary team across 12 food and beverage outlets, including Nobu, and helped guide the resort’s culinary evolution during its multimillion-dollar renovation.

His career also includes leadership roles at The Boulders Resort & Spa, The Phoenician, JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa and Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel. Archibald has worked alongside acclaimed chefs including Daniel Boulud, Gary Danko and Jeremiah Tower, and he was invited to cook at the James Beard House in 2008 and 2009. In 2017, he competed on Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay,” where he defeated Bobby Flay.

Known for his ingredient-driven approach, Archibald blends Mediterranean flavors with classic French techniques. At Playa Largo, he will bring that perspective to the resort’s dining collection, including waterfront restaurant Sol by the Sea, Mediterranean-inspired La Marea, poolside Sand Bar and cocktail and ceviche destination Las Olas.

“Returning to Playa Largo feels like coming home, and I’m excited to build on the resort’s culinary identity,” said Archibald. “The Florida Keys offer endless inspiration, from the local seafood to the relaxed energy of Key Largo. I look forward to creating thoughtful dining experiences that reflect that sense of place.”
