On Aug. 1, the Madrigal Family Winery of Napa Valley, a Bacchus Capital portfolio company, opened its new tasting room at 819 Bridgeway in the heart of Sausalito, California. The new Madrigal Winery tasting room is the first and only Sausalito tasting room to be opened by a brick-and-mortar Napa Valley winery.

Since the 1930s, three generations of the Madrigal family have been farming some of Napa’s finest vineyards and have always been known for their old-world hospitality; adding a second tasting room is a natural evolution of the family’s history.

Designed by well-known wine country interior designer Shawn Hall, Madrigal’s tasting bar and lounge have a gallery sensibility with the warmth and character of a West Coast cafe. The environment artfully mixes local wine country elements with an urban flair, showcasing sustainable materials and California style. A large window display depicts the history of the Napa Valley and the early days of winemaking, as experienced by the Madrigal family first-hand.

“Sausalito is another part of California that is close to my heart. Opening this tasting room is the perfect way to celebrate our winery’s 20th anniversary,” says Chris Madrigal, third-generation founder and president of Madrigal Family Winery.

"It’s a pleasure to bring our wines and our history in the vineyards to Sausalito," says Steve Cousins, Madrigal’s COO. "The chance to experience the family’s hospitality in this beautiful setting will be a joy for all 365 days a year.”

The new tasting room offers three different tasting experiences, each featuring five world-class wines: “Summer in Wine Country” for $12, the “Madrigal Family Tasting” for $15 and “The Family Jewels” for $20: 2013 Calistoga Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 Calistoga Tempranillo, 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Franc, 2010 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon and 2010 Barberis Family Estate Petite Sirah. Wines by the glass are also available.
