Ted’s Montana Grill Promotes Marketing, HR Leaders

Ted’s Montana Grill has announced the promotions of Jessica Smith to senior director of marketing and Laura Grunwald to director of HR (human resources).

“The growth and development of our team members is incredibly exciting and important to our company as a whole,” says Michelle Zavolta, vice president of HR and training for Ted’s Montana Grill. “That’s why we’re so proud and thrilled to announce the promotion of these two women, both of whom embody the spirit of Ted’s and make our team better all around.”

As senior director of marketing, Smith, who joined the company in December 2008 as director of marketing, now oversees and directs all marketing initiatives.

Her 12 years of marketing and advertising experience have involved extensive work with the restaurant industry, including clients such as Atlanta Bread Company, Canoe Restaurant, and Church’s Chicken during her time as senior account executive at Scharbo & Company/Match, Inc. from 2006-2008 and account executive at Carat USA from 2002-2006.

A native of Calhoun, Georgia, Smith holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She resides in Mableton, Georgia.

Grunwald has worked in the HR department at Ted’s Montana Grill for 10 years since the company’s founding in 2002. She served as HR manager from 2004-2012 and HR assistant from 2002-2004.

In her new position as director of HR, Grunwald is instrumental in the restaurant company’s continued focus and success in employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR processes and procedures.

A graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans where she earned her bachelor’s degree, Grunwald has also earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, and lives in midtown Atlanta.
