On Nov. 28, Villa Enterprises Management Ltd., Inc., the global multi-concept restaurant franchisor, and Scotto Properties presented a check for $30,494 to Parents of Autistic Children (POAC). The check reflects funds raised during Villa’s 10thAnnual Charity Golf Outing and Dinner, held in late September.
The golf outing and dinner took place at the Knoll West Country Club in Parsippany, New Jersey, and was organized by Villa employee Lori Orrico, the parent of a 7-year-old boy with autism.
Orrico shared her experience with attendees of the dinner, saying POAC’s free educational and training programs for parents, educators, and public safety workers were integral to helping Orrico and her son following his autism diagnosis.
"Without POAC to help light the way, families like mine would be wandering aimlessly through the overwhelming maze that is autism," Orrico says.
POAC is a nonprofit organization and educational leader in the autism community that provides free training to families, educators, and first responders. Additionally, POAC provides recreational and support services to children and families living with autism.
