When the Wine ConneXtion first opened its doors four years ago, co-owners Sam and Tina Messina had envisioned creating a cultural experience where the customer could be exposed to the finest art, wine and cuisine that their community had to offer. They were able to give their customers a good deal and introduce them to new wine and food, but knew the visual component missing was missing from their store.

One day a customer walked up to Tina Messina to ask her where she could purchase one of the few paintings on the wall. Unable to price the image or direct her to the artist who created it – Tina realized this was a missed opportunity for someone. Their weekly tastings gave local restaurants and wineries a change to showcase their work, why not use their ample wall space to display the work of North Shore creatives?

“We love introducing our customers to new wines and cuisine, so introducing them to local artists makes sense to us. We are so excited to collaborate with artists and give them the opportunity to display their work to our customers and the community,” says co-owner Tina Messina.

On Thursday, October 10th, The Wine ConneXtion, will transform into a local art gallery as it opens its doors and vacates its walls during a special month long exhibition: “Home is Where The Art Is.” The event signifies the unification of culture that the North Shore has to offer through food, wine and art, and unlike the Wine ConneXtion’s weekly tastings where wine and food are a pairing, this tasting connects each artist with a wine selected by co-owner Sam Messina that correlates best with the artist’s style.

Guests are invited to join from 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. to peruse the store, chat with the artists while enjoying samples of the Wine ConneXtion’s top wine pairings.
