Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) is excited to announce Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink will open at The Lane in the heart of Upper Arlington in early 2014.  A second Hudson 29 location is planned for The New Albany Company’s Market & Main development in 2015.

Two of America’s most scenic and storied valleys, the Upper Hudson and Napa, have enriched Cameron Mitchell’s culinary life and the culinary fabric of CMR.  Named for the Hudson Valley site of Mitchell’s revered alma mater, the original Culinary Institute of America, and route 29, which runs through Napa Valley’s lush vineyards, Hudson 29 is a comforting confluence of culinary influences and experiences.

Hudson 29 takes American cuisine to new heights through simple preparations that allow the flavors of the expertly sourced ingredients to shine through.  Guests will taste this approach throughout the menu – a familiar and hearty assortment of flatbreads, sushi, farm-style salads, prime steaks, rotisserie roasted chicken, and knife & fork sandwiches.

The bar has been raised in similar fashion. The focus is on wine, with a California-sized list of over 200 bottles, including an exclusive selection served through a temperature-controlled Cruvinet system.  Artfully crafted cocktails with house made mixers and fresh squeezed juices, and an ever-changing list of craft beers round out the selection.

The timeless décor of Hudson 29 is nothing short of an embrace, a warm and casual mix of fresh Californian influences, warmed by Midwestern hospitality.  Walnut and cherry woods and crimson leathers are found throughout, as an exhibition kitchen artfully displays the craftsmanship of chefs and the welcoming aroma from the rotisserie, grills, and pizza oven.  As a life-long resident of Upper Arlington, Mitchell envisions this restaurant to be a local favorite gathering spot for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

“This year marks our 20th year in business, and we are excited to unveil Hudson 29 in our hometown in 2014.  Our company truly enjoys the creation of something new and the opportunity to introduce new concepts,” says restaurateur Cameron Mitchell. “This expansion is the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary, support our communities, and give back to Columbus.  Our growth also provides opportunities for our current associates to further their careers within our company and will create new openings for future associates to join our CMR family.”

A second new concept, an upscale casual steakhouse, will open in summer of 2014 at Rogers Market on Johnstown Road in Gahanna.  Situated on three acres, the restaurant will feature a large dining room, an in-house meat-cutting room, a bakeshop, an extensive Bourbon Lounge, and an expansive terrace overlooking a creek and manicured grounds.  The menu will showcase a wide selection of Black Angus steaks, house smoked ribs, and chicken, with family-sized sides for sharing. Fresh, local produce and house-made desserts will round out the menu, which will appeal to families and friends celebrating special occasions or simply enjoying a relaxing night together.  The early-American design of this restaurant will transport guests and is expected to become a regional dining destination for visitors and residents in neighboring counties.
