After undergoing a six-week renovation, Charleston's Magnolias is now open, debuting a fresh new look. As the upscale Southern restaurant approaches its 25th anniversary in 2015, it was perfect timing to refresh the space, offering an updated environment for guests. The new look presents patrons with an enhanced experience complemented by the original Southern charm for which Magnolias is best known.

"As the menu evolves with time, it is important to us to also adjust the design and atmosphere, providing the best dining experience for our guests," says Magnolias owner TJ Parsell. "The space has been updated with a sophisticated look, but guests will still feel like they are in their favorite spot for world-class Southern cuisine."

Reimagined by The Johnson Studio–the original designer–Magnolias' environment captures Charleston's rich culture, respecting the spirit, and history of one of the city's most beloved restaurants.

"Since I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina, returning to this historic city holds much meaning for me," says Bill Johnson, founder and senior Principal at The Johnson Studio. "The Johnson Studio has also worked with Hospitality Management Group on the design of Cypress and Blossom, so it has been a great experience providing Magnolias, a dining staple in Charleston, with an updated design."

As guests enter the refreshed Magnolias, they are greeted by a classic black tile floor and a retouched bar and host area. The dining room exudes elegance and features a panelized and antique-mirrored wall with a cozy banquette and updated sconces providing a warm glow for diners. Refined seating options offer a respite for patrons looking to escape for a traditional Southern meal.

Coupled with executive chef Donald Drake's innovate cuisine, the redesigned Magnolias remains a leader in upscale Southern fare, nearly 25 years and counting.
