José Andrés at ThinkFoodGroup is proud to announce the redesign of Jaleo Bethesda, his successful location in Montgomery County for more than 12 years.  The restaurant will undergo a weeklong renovation to transform into a more contemporary, and exciting space.  Jaleo Bethesda will be closed from September 3–8, and is expected to resume service on September 9th.  

The new space is inspired by avant garde Spanish design.  Once again, José Andrés tapped his good friend, architect, and designer, Juli Capella to lead this eye-catching project and Forrester Construction Company to assist with the implementation of their vision.  Because of José’s passion to tell the story of his country, each element of this evolution was carefully selected to reveal the culture and traditions of Spain.

As part of this evolution, an exciting display of tapas will take center stage showcasing some of the most delectable Spanish cured hams and cheeses. The redesign will also feature distinctive art pieces from Spanish artists such as a mural from renowned Barcelona artist Rafael Vargas; the famous foosball tables designed by José himself in partnership with Spanish company RS and artist Claudina Codina, and many other stunning features from his native Spain.

“My team and I are very excited about the renovation of Jaleo Bethesda.  We really want to celebrate the spirit of Spain in every way.  This restaurant is close to my home and I spend great times here. Changes are made when you are at your peak and I think Bethesda, in general, is at its best moment so this is the right moment to do this makeover,” says José Andrés.
