Chef Sarah Lorenzen of Andaluca earned “Best in Show” at the Seattle Lamb Jam competition sponsored by the American Lamb Board.

A panel of judges sampled lamb dishes from 15 Seattle chefs and pronounced the following chefs winners in their categories:

  • Best in Show/Best in Ground: Sarah Lorenzen, Andaluca – Fresh lamb sausage socca with pomegranate tomato jam.
  • Best Leg Dish: Jason Stoneburner, Stoneburner – Lamb sausage banh mi with preserved green cayenne and cucumber pickled relish.
  • Best Shank Dish: Dan Gilmore, Hunt Club – Spice-rubbed confit lamb shank with sage grits, pickled chanterelle relish, and stewed tomato sauce.
  • Best Shoulder Dish: Sabastian Carosi, Muddy Waters – Lamb shoulder burger with wild local chanterelles, truffle catsup, and Beecher’s Flagship cheese on a homemade sesame seed bun. People’s Choice: Bobby Moore, Barking Frog – Lamb chorizo sweet potato croquette with maple gastrique .

Lorenzen, along with future Lamb Jam winners from Boston, Washington D.C. and San Francisco will convene in Fall 2014 to compete for the title of “Master” at the American Lamb Jam in San Luis Obispo County.
