Famous Dave's of America, Inc. opened four locations in Texas, Minnesota, California, and North Dakota.

The new locations are owned by well-established Famous Dave's franchisees. "We are thrilled with the commitment to our concept," says John F. Gilbert III, CEO. "We work hard to support our Franchise Partners and this demonstrates their confidence not only in Famous Dave's, but also in the barbeque segment of the restaurant industry."

The El Paso, Texas restaurant marked the opening of the chain's 196th restaurant.. While this spot was previously home to a local restaurant for more than four decades, it has been completely redone and features a fresh new look. Alex Oroczco, a successful franchisee for several concepts including Wendy's and Applebee's, says there's a lot of traffic in the area and "Famous Dave's will be a good addition to this part of the city."

The owners of the Twin Cities' Mall of America location opened their second restaurant in the nearby suburb of Cottage Grove, Minnesota last week. It is a unique Famous Dave's, offering counter service during the day and full service dining in the evening. According to franchisee Pat Buffham, "We are looking forward to bringing a new style Dave's to a local community." In addition, her location features a drive through service which is new to the market.

The Oxnard, California and Williston, North Dakota restaurants have remained busy since their openings last month. "Both Franchise partners have reported being on a wait most nights of the week," says Victor Salamone, vice president of Development and Franchise Sales. "We're thrilled to see barbeque bring 'the heat' in two very different markets."
