The Philly Beer School announced its Fall 2013 calendar today. The schedule includes many new brewing programs and beer classes.

  • Beer and Brewing 101. The beer class for everyone. This is our introduction to how beer is made, major beer styles, and brewing history. Eight different brews will be sampled. Beer 101 was featured on the CBS show “What's Brewing". This is a great class for beer enthusiasts and budding home brewers alike. Friday, September 13th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • The Beer & Brewing Foundation Certificate. Everything needed to brew beer in an eight-week semester. Presented in a lighthearted but pragmatic style, this authoritative program introduces brewing in an easy to follow format. The weekly classes are based in both lectures and lab work (aka brewing beer). Saturdays, September 21 to November 9th from 3:30–5:30 p.m.
  • The Belgian Beer Experience. The beers of Belgium are some of the most diverse and popular in the world. Tonight, we'll taste through the famous, and not-so-famous, beer styles of Belgium, including wild fermented lambics, Abbey ales, Flemish sours, and more. An essential class for any beer lover. Saturday, October 26th from 4:30 to 6:30.
  • American Craft Brews: East Coast vs. West Coast. In this class, they sample the extraordinary beers that highlight the differences between East Coast and West Coast brewing styles. The differences are eye opening, but this is one rivalry where you don't have to take sides. Saturday, October 5th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
