Buddy’s Pizza, creator of the original Detroit-style pizza, is headed to college this fall as a proud partner of Michigan Athletics. Under the new five-year agreement, Buddy’s Pizza 4-square pizzas will be available at concession stands throughout the Big House, as well as the University of Michigan’s Crisler Center and Yost Ice Arena.
Beginning this fall, Wolverine fans will have the choice of pepperoni or classic cheese Buddy’s Pizza 4-square pizzas at stadium and arena concession stands. The 4-square pizzas, priced at $15 each, will be served in a custom-designed, “Go Blue” box, each of which includes a $4 off coupon code for a future purchase at any Buddy’s Pizza location.
“We think Buddy’s Pizza, together with Michigan Athletics, is a winning team, and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to bring our beloved original Detroit-style pizza to the fans of the maize-and-blue,” says Chris Tussing, Buddy’s Pizza CEO. “Whether you’re already a devoted Buddy’s fan, or someone eating our pizza for the first-time, we’re ready to make game day delicious.”
Founded more than 75 years ago in Detroit, Buddy’s Pizza is the original, and most awarded, Detroit-style pizza brand. There are currently 22 Buddy’s Pizza locations throughout Michigan, both dine-in and carry-out. Beyond the stadium concession stands, Ann Arbor guests can find a full-service Buddy’s Pizza location at 3153 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring fans of Michigan Athletics a favorite and iconic hometown brand, like Buddy’s Pizza,” says Jennifer Cadicamo, Vice President and General Manager, Michigan Sports Properties. “We each have our own proud and rich local histories, and we’re excited to experience this next chapter of our stories together.”
Terms of the deal, which is in place through the 2027-2028 athletic season, were not disclosed.
