Hooters restaurants are raising money to help support the victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan.

Through various local initiatives, locations around the world are raising money toward the relief effort and Hooters Community Endowment Fund (HOO.C.E.F.). Hooters of America will match the money raised.

“Although our Tokyo Hooters restaurant did not incur any structural damage from the earthquake and tsunami, the disaster has affected the employees and disrupted the unit’s business,” says Tory Bartlett, vice president of franchise operations for Hooters of America, LLC.

“We are very proud of our Japanese franchisee and we feel it is important to support them in this time of need.”

The initiatives in the U.S. will be combined with the current efforts of the 11 Hooters locations in Asia, which are also working to raise money for the cause.
