Hooters has declared March 17 and 18 National Play Hooky Days, encouraging customers to watch the first round games of the basketball tournament at its resstaurants. Fans are encouraged to visit www.HootersHookyDay.com, to cure their “basketball fever,” download a doctor’s note and redeem a free appetizer coupon today and tomorrow during the games.
“If you’ve got basketball fever, then Hooters is where you have to be on March 17th and 18th,” said Mike McNeil, vice president of marketing for Hooters of America, LLC. “Weare hoping for an epidemic this year as we build on the success from 2010.”
Hooters has again partnered with long time Hooters spokesperson and college basketball analyst, Dick Vitale for the promotion. He is featured in the Hooters national TV, alongside “Nurse Ashleigh,” as well as on in store point of sale and Hooters season menu.
Hooters will also donate $1 per new Facebook ‘Like’ to the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Grant, up to $10,000.
