Johnny Rockets, with more than 300 locations across 32 states and 15 countries, announced the grand opening of its latest all-American restaurant in Tampico, in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

The new Johnny Rockets will introduce the brand’s menu, décor, and dancing to residents and visitors of the vibrant coastal community. Local entrepreneurs and brothers, Jorge Santana Villarreal and Isaias Santana Villarreal, will operate the new location.

The brothers also own and run a family business that includes freight transportation, blue agave and tree plantations, cattle farming, and industrial equipment. They also run a charitable foundation that provides medical assistance, food, and support to those who can’t afford appropriate care.

“We are excited to open Johnny Rockets in our hometown of Tampico,” Isaias Santana Villarreal says. “It allows us to introduce the kind of cooking we’ve experienced in the States and allows us to bring out our creative sides when it comes to marketing, music, and dancing.

“We know our friends and family love eating and spending time here, and we believe the rest of the city will, as well,” he says.

The new 2,730 square foot restaurant is located in Plaza Covadonga and employs 43 local Tampico residents. “Tampico represents a great opportunity for Johnny Rockets to further our fan base in yet another vibrant part of Mexico,” says Steve Devine, senior vice president of international development at Johnny Rockets. “We have no doubt that the Santana Villarreals will bring the same passion and professionalism to this restaurant as they do to their other businesses.”
