BreakRoom Brewery, Chicago's newest brew pub, will be featured in new Discovery Network show, "Epic Bar Builds," which will air mid-April.

The show follows the men and women of the Heineman Bar Company (HBC) in Chicago's Near North Side, as they create one-of-a-kind bars anywhere in America. Led by bar design savant Aaron Heineman, the team takes on custom projects all over the country.

The series will conclude with the unveiling of BreakRoom Brewery. "I'm proud to be able to highlight my love for woodworking and craftsmanship at BreakRoom for all to see and appreciate. It's a dream come true for me," says founder Aaron Heineman.

In addition to providing great craft beer and food, BreakRoom Brewery showcases expert craftsmanship and love for woodworking throughout. Every piece of wood that entered HBC has been carefully cut, sanded, stained and installed within BreakRoom Brewery.

The 40-foot bar made of ribbon stripe sapele wood and a piece of 300 million year old petrified wood inlaid upon the bar are for all to see, touch and enjoy. Sunlight from the skylights highlight tables throughout the space, which are handcrafted from various species of wood and uniquely designed.

Reclaimed barn wood from a farm over 150 years old frames and covers the outside of the brew house. Used barrels from friends at Journeyman Distillery have been made into light fixtures, which hang from the 30-foot-high ceiling. Original wooden trusses have been restored and highlight character from the building's past while paying tribute to its urban setting.

Dean Ordzowialy, general manager, is thrilled with the show and is anticipating BreakRoom's grand opening. "We're extremely proud of all the hard work we've put into the planning and build out of the space," he says. "It's been a long time coming and this was no small feat."
