Eleven Hospitality Group announced they will be opening a second location of Ani Ramen House in the heart of downtown Jersey City’s “restaurant row” at 218 Newark Avenue in late September. Ani literally translates to “big brother,” and fittingly, this new “brother” location joins the original, very popular Montclair spot similarly offering their signature Japanese ramen noodle soups (custom signature noodles by Sun Noodle) and acclaimed dishes such as pork buns, crispy gyoza. Renown Chef Shigetoshi “Jack” Nakamura's early input and influence on the menu helped shape the Ani Ramen brand. The relationship that formed with Nakamura solidifies the authenticity of Ani Ramen.

The Jersey City location will have a full bar serving craft cocktails, sake, selection of Japanese/Asian beer, wine with a late night bar menu available. Additionally, the Jersey City outpost will have a secluded outdoor courtyard featuring a yakitori grill where guests can gather and enjoy the new yakatori menu. Jersey City residents will soon find out why folks from the Montclair area stand in line for this ramen, but the bar and yakitori grill here will certainly make any wait a more pleasurable and delicious one.

The beverage program will focus on a curated selection of craft cocktails with a Japanese twist, utilizing Yamazaki Japanese Whiskey, yuzu juice, premium sake, Japanese tea infused liquors, and more. The outdoor patio will serve a great selection of sake by the can and glass jars with sake and wine available by the glass and bottle. They also plan to feature an impressive selection of Japanese whiskeys from Suntory Whiskey.

Ani Ramen House Jersey City is led by the same management team as Montclair. While under development, the new location introduces itself to its new neighborhood via windows papered with quotes from the Montclair customer guest book. The space is designed by Pixel Experience, and just like Montclair, will feature mural artwork by artist Rich Tu.
