Following a month-long promotion, Johnny Carino’s donated $60,000 to autism awareness. In March, Carino’s pledged to donate $30,000 to the Autism Speaks and Autism Society if 30,000 people shared a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #carinosblue during April, which is National Autism Awareness Month.
After tallying the large amount of pictures, Carino’s was so overwhelmed by the amount of participants that they donated $60,000 to the two organizations, each of which received a $30,000 check from the Carino’s Foundation.
This was the fourth consecutive year that the Carino’s Foundation has made it a mission to raise money for autism. Their financial contribution supports two organizations that are fighting a growing epidemic in the U.S., which now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys.
Johnny Carino’s will continue to shine light on autism awareness by having a presence at all the Walk Now for Autism Speaks events held in Texas throughout the year.
