Willa’s Provisions (310 North Rome Ave) – the casual all-day café housed in front of recently opened neighborhood restaurant and bar Willa’s – is now open in the evenings as a cocktail bar with a focus on amari. The space has been designed to function for different purposes throughout the day: early in the morning, the room glows with natural light, and when the sun goes down, it transforms into a moody, candle-lit environment perfect for a date or grabbing drinks with friends. The cafe’s expanded hours are 8am-2pm Monday and Tuesday and from 8am-10pm Wednesday to Sunday.
Willa’s Provisions first opened this spring, serving locally-roasted King State Coffee, loose leaf organic tea and matcha from Rishi Tea & Botanicals, baked goods and breakfast tacos, in addition to a curated selection of pantry staples, home goods and Willa’s merchandise. Guests can now enjoy these same offerings every day of the week, in addition to a classic cocktail list from bartender Amber Carregal with a heavy emphasis on AMARI, the classic liqueur originally from Italy made with aromatic, herbal, bittersweet ingredients, and VERMOUTH, the aromatized wine infused with herbs, botanicals and sugar for flavor and color. Standouts include the Strawberry Aperol Spritz; a lineup of Amaro Spritzes with sparkling wine; a menu of different Negronis with unique styles of gin, vermouth and amaro; Vermouth + Tonics with Willa’s housemade cold-brewed tonic on tap; plus a selection of “Weekenders” – Pimm’s Cup, Mimosa and Mini Mary – classic brunch cocktails available on Saturdays and Sundays only.
New alcoholic beverages pouring all day also include a wider selection of ice cold beer and natural wines. A snack menu designed for cocktail accompaniments features toasted almonds, castelvetrano olives, housemade pickles, cheeses and more.
“I love low-ABV cocktails that are meant to be sipped and savored,” says Willa’s bartender Amber Carregal. “Our cocktail menu at Willa’s Provisions is taking a page from aperitivo culture in Italy and beyond with appetite-stimulating aromatized wines and classic liqueurs. Spritzes, amaro and negronis galore!”
“The menu has special drinks that may be new for a lot of people, but we make them super approachable with soda, cola, housemade tonic or sparkling wine,” says Willa’s Provisions Co-founder Nate Siegel. “We’ve strived to create a space that’s both intimate and comfortable, with cocktails and food that match the vibe.”
Willa’s Provisions continues to offer coffee, tea, baked goods and items from their cold case such as veggie salads, rotisserie chicken salads, dressings, and dips. This week and moving forward, they’ve added new menu items in the grab-and-go cold case, including picnic-style summer salads that are super fresh, light and vegan (with the exception of the pulled chicken chimichurri). Guests can create their perfect lunch or snack by grabbing all the salads and pulling up a chair on Willa’s Provisions’ sunny patio or taking them to go (pro tip: order a warm pita or bagel on the side for dipping!) Both Willa’s Provisions and Willa’s are housed in a 4,700-square-foot industrial building initially constructed around a century ago. The restaurants have a number of unique and flexible seating options: semi-private seating, fully-private events, full restaurant buyouts, sundowner cocktails on the patio, wine dinners, intimate chef’s tasting and everything in between.
