The 11 Tampa Bay area Hooters locations and Hoots St. Pete have raised $3,500 to provide 6,860 meals for Metropolitan Ministries. Donations were collected at the restaurants from the middle of August through September to help fight hunger. The Round Up program to support Metropolitan Ministries will continue to take place through the end of the year at the Tampa Bay area Hooters locations and Hoots St. Pete.
“This year we’re serving three times as many families for Thanksgiving and almost half of these families have never asked for help before. That’s why efforts like the Hooters’ Round Up Your Check are essential in making sure every family receives a meal,” says Tim Marks, Metropolitan Ministries President and CEO. “It’s clear how much Hooters and Hoots Restaurants care about our community Tampa Bay families in need.”
In addition to the Round Up program, Hooters Management Corporation donated 40 turkeys to the annual Metropolitan Ministries Thanksgiving Food Drive on November 20. Hooters Management Corporation has been a part of this event leading up to Thanksgiving for over 11 years.
