Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, the Gulf Coast-inspired restaurant from Southerleigh Hospitality Group located at Pearl, announces a temporary closure to update its interior design and infrastructure, and prepare to relaunch a new menu, starting on August 22. The restaurant will reopen in early October.

Interior

Located inside Pearl’s historic brewhouse, the expansive restaurant space has served San Antonio as Southerleigh for seven years, and is ready for an upgrade including new tile flooring, colorful curtains and a fresh coat of paint, plus some behind-the-scenes upgrades.

Menu

Led by Executive Chef Jeff Balfour, Southerleigh’s menu will simultaneously push the boundaries of its modern sensibility, while calling back to some former favorites inspired by Balfour’s childhood growing up on Texas’ Gulf Coast.

“Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery is known for striking the balance between comfort and sophistication, and we are excited to bring the menu back to our roots with some new signature dishes alongside classics from our original opening menus,” says Southerleigh Hospitality Group Co-Founder and Executive Chef Jeff Balfour.

In the meantime, Southerleigh Haute South at The RIM remains open, with a newly launched menu featuring its signature fried chicken, biscuits, and sides alongside new dishes like Rotisserie Porchetta, Shrimp Ceviche, Redfish on the Half Shell, Broiled Oysters, and Fried Frog Legs.

Staff

During the closure, Southerleigh’s front and back of house staff will retain their employment status while receiving extra training and preparing for the reopening.

“We will continue to support our team by providing additional training during the closure in order to ensure the service is better than ever upon reopening. We look forward to welcoming guests back to Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery this Fall,” says Co-Founder and Operation Officer Philippe Placé.
