Ruby Tuesday Inc. offered non-alcoholic lemonades for just 25 cents with the purchase of an adult entrée in celebration of National Lemonade Day August 20. All Lemonade Day proceeds were donated to No Kid Hungry, a national movement aimed at ending childhood hunger by connecting kids with healthy food where they live, learn and play.
The restaurant sold 32,954 lemonades in the promotion. All proceeds from lemonade sales on National Lemonade Day and ongoing donations received to benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to-date has totaled $21,545, which will provide 215,450 healthy meals for children in need.
Ruby Tuesday will continue collecting donations to support No Kid Hungry through September 18, and will offer the following coupon promotions for any guest who makes a donation:
Receive a free kid’s meal with the purchase of any adult entrée (valid September 3 to September 18, restrictions apply).
Receive a free dessert with the purchase of two adult entrées (valid September 3 to September 18, restrictions apply).
In addition to Ruby Tuesday’s current lemonade lineup, the company is also unveiling two new non-alcoholic lemonades—Sweet Strawberry and Classic Lemonade—made with 100-percent, all-natural lemon juice and fresh fruit and a NEW limited time only Lemonade Sangria available in Strawberry or Blueberry. The Lemonade Sangria is made with crisp white wine, BACARDÍ LIMÓN, all-natural lemon juice and real fruit for only $6.
“Most of us had lemonade stands when we were kids, selling glasses for a quarter. We thought it would be great to not only take our guests back to those good old days, but also help kids today at the same time. We’re thrilled to partner with No Kid Hungry to support their mission of ending childhood hunger in America," says David Skena, chief marketing officer at Ruby Tuesday. “At Ruby Tuesday, we care about families, kids and investing in the future of our communities, so it was a natural fit for us to partner with a likeminded organization to unveil our new lemonades and offer our guests a fun way to enjoy them while also contributing to a great cause.”
In addition to the company’s 25 cent Lemonade promotion, from August 20 through September 18, Ruby Tuesday is encouraging its guests to make a donation of any denomination to No Kid Hungry following their meal. Every guest who makes a donation to the cause will receive a bounce-back card good for one free kid’s meal or free dessert with the purchase of an adult entrée on their next visit. Offer valid while supplies last.
Ruby Tuesday is driven by uncompromising freshness, quality and gracious hospitality designed to delight each and every guest. The company offers a Kids Eat Free program every Tuesday night from 5 p.m. to close—one free kid’s meal with one adult entrée purchase. Guests are encouraged to join the company’s So Connected email club to receive a free appetizer upon sign up, exclusive news, offers and a free burger on your birthday.
