Nino Cutraro, owner of the popular Bella Piatti, dubbed the “Italian Cheers!” after the hit TV show because of the warmth and comradery extended by long-standing employees and regular clientele, is set to open a second restaurant on November 9.
Mare Mediterranean is located at 115 Willits Street in Birmingham, Michigan serving contemporary cuisine with a specialty of exquisitely prepared seafood with Greek, Italian and Spanish influences. Fresh fish will be imported daily from Italy, Portugal and Greece, and displayed for guests to select their entrees. Mare Mediterranean will also offer meat options rounding out the divine menu.
The renovation of the 6,800 sq. ft. space has created a chic atmosphere with attractive LED lighting, cascading waterfalls running down the entrance and a translucent film that has video reflective properties. To enhance the guest experience while dining, Cutraro is planning to display breathtaking visuals like underwater footage from the Great Barrier Reef that will be brought to life with laser projected special lensing that will actually bend the light to create a custom image. Diners might see three giant jellyfish floating and swimming in the windows or mermaids swimming, stopping and gazing inside the pane of glass. Operated by advanced technology, each pane can display individual images or one dramatic image can be split across all three in a spectacular visual.
“Mare Mediterranean will serve exquisite food in a trendy environment with a magnificent video wall,” says Nino Cutraro, restaurant founder who anticipates the same enthusiasm he has experienced at Bella Piatti for nearly a decade. “Our guests will receive superior service in a stylish and upscale setting while feeling like they are dining with family,” said Cutraro who has partnered with Jay Feldman, CEO of Feldman Automotive Group for this venture. “We anticipate the same warmth and enthusiasm we have had for nearly a decade at Bella Piatti.
Mare Mediterranean will host an invite-only VIP event on Monday, November 8 which will include a toy donation for Variety The Children’s Charity Detroit. The restaurant opens to the public on Tuesday, November 9 and reservations are recommended. Hours of operation will be Tues to Thurs: 4:30pm to 10:30pm, Fri & Sat: 4:30pm to 11:30pm, Sun: 4:30pm to 9:00pm.
