El Conquistador Resort & Las Casitas Village, Waldorf Astoria Resorts in Puerto Rico announced the promotion of Ernie Reyes to executive chef, effective immediately. 

In his new role, Chef Reyes will oversee the resort's numerous dining outlets, banquet and catering services, room service, and the culinary team.

Having served in numerous culinary positions for world-class resorts from around the globe, Chef Reyes is a seasoned culinary professional bringing more than 15 years of experience. For the past seven months, Reyes served as executive sous chef of El Conquistador Resort & Las Casitas Village. 

Prior to this he served as executive chef at San Juan Marriott Resort and Gran Meliá Golf Resort Puerto Rico. Further culinary experience includes Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, St. Regis Bahia Beach, El San Juan Resort & Casino, Melia Hotels, and Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina. 

Chef Reyes has received numerous accomplishments for his culinary talents including earning membership in the National Culinary Team of Puerto Rico with award achievements on multiple occasions.

Chef Reyes grew up in Puerto Rico and received his associate degree in culinary arts from Globelle Technical Institute in Puerto Rico.

El Conquistador Resort & Las Casitas Village has 23 different restaurants, bars, and lounges, each with a distinctive menu and atmosphere. From fine dining to casual, many of the restaurants offer stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and of the resort’s 100-acre private Palomino Island, including the resort's signature Chops Steakhouse. 

Two banquet kitchen facilities offer groups and events the flexibility of offering kosher meals as well as other specialty meals with both buffet and a la carte dining options available.
