Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, the go-to spot for homestyle, comfort classics, and fresh-from-the-oven pies, announces its signing of a new franchise agreement with Ohio Valley Hospitality. The brand continues its strong presence across Ohio by adding a location inside an IHG Hotel and Resort property. The newly constructed building is expected to open in June 2024. The announcement comes at an exciting period of franchising for Perkins Restaurant & Bakery as the brand has experienced a great year of growth.

“Our background is in hotels, and one of our hotels in Cincinnati has a Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. We have seen how successful the location has been and wanted to get in on the action for ourselves,” says Gurwinder Sohal, Co-Owner of the upcoming Cincinnati Perkins location.

Sohal leads the franchise acquisition with Jagpal Crewal, Arjan Singh, Jagroop Toor, and Rajinder Kumar. Supported by a successful development team at Ascent Hospitality Management, Sohal expresses his appreciation for the team, particularly Peter Ortiz, Chief Development Officer at Ascent Hospitality Management, as acquiring this location was no easy feat.

“It was an extremely difficult process to get this location approved within an IHG Hotel, but Peter stood by our side from beginning to end. I’m appreciative of his resilience and support for our team. It took a long time to get approval from a third-party brand, but we were able to push through and get it done,” continues Sohal.

“I firmly believe that this location will be a high-volume location as Cinncinnati has had a huge level of success for the Perkins brand,” says Peter Ortiz, Chief Development Officer at Ascent Hospitality Management. “We look forward to working with Sohal and his partners to continue being a part of future hotel acquisitions.”

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery continues to flourish with its franchise developments by entering a time of innovation and momentous growth. Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is a nationwide leader in franchise development and continues to seek experienced restaurant operators in becoming franchise owners in U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

“With Perkins Restaurant & Bakery  starting in Ohio in 1958, opening new locations and seeing the growth of the brand in the same city is extremely exciting for us,” says Jim Frank, Chief Operating Officer of Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. “I look forward to seeing the brand grow along with our partnership with Ohio Valley Hospitality group.”
