Otto’s Taproom & Grille, which is coming up on its one-year anniversary of proudly serving Philadelphia’s Brewerytown neighborhood, is launching boozy brunch service, and kicking it off with a special themed Groundhog Day breakfast for dinner on Friday, February 2nd at the restaurant located at 1216 North 29th Street.

From 5 p.m. until 1 a.m., Otto’s will be serving a handful of food and drinks from the cult classic, as well as a few other special menu items for guests to enjoy. Weekend brunch service officially kicks off on Sunday, February 4th between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., but on Friday, it’s a breakfast for dinner evening to showcase a few standouts that will be offered on the brunch menu.

Drink specials include “Sweet Vermouth on the Rocks with a Twist,” as well as “Jim Bean with ice and a little bit of water,” along with maple syrup Old Fashioneds and espresso martinis “so that everybody can toast to World peace,” noted Otto’s Executive Chef David Sposato, which is a nod to the storyline of the film that debuted on February 4, 1993 and will air on repeat on AMC from 11 a.m. through 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Breakfast for dinner specials will include flapjacks; apple cider donuts; gravlax; shrimp and grits; bacon and eggs; and steak and eggs. When brunch launches on Sunday, Otto’s will also feature Bloody Marys, mimosas, and a build-you-own omelet option. 

“We have several items that we’re excited to preview prior to launching brunch as we accelerate our timeline,” said Sposato. “We have a couple of breakfast sandwiches that we’re working on as well which we’ll debut on Sunday, but we’re looking forward to this fun, themed evening to preview what should be a great addition to our repertoire.”
