Three Michelin-starred Chef Patrick O’Connell, proprietor of famed The Inn at Little Washington, has officially opened his second restaurant, Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery, located on The Inn at Little Washington’s 24-acre campus in the historic landmark village fondly known as Little Washington, Virg.

Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery is a casual eatery that will allow O’ Connell to feature some of his favorite dishes, including classics from The Inn’s early days. Menus will rotate seasonally as much of the fare is sourced locally and from The Inn’s own farm, gardens and greenhouses. O’Connell’s formative inspirations for the cafe came from his many trips to France where he fell in love with the culture and spirit of sidewalk cafés. The adjoining bakery will offer The Inn’s delectable croissants, artisanal breads, custom blended coffees, teas and much more.

Chef Devin Bozkaya returns to The Inn at Little Washington to helm the kitchen at Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery.  Having worked in The Inn at Little Washington’s kitchen for more than five years, Chef Bozkaya brings more than 20 years of culinary experience to the cafe.  The Culinary Institute of America graduate has also held Executive Chef, Chef and Chef de Cuisine positions at The Weekapaug Inn in Westerly, Rhode Island as well as Altamarea Group. In rejoining The Inn’s culinary team, Chef Bozkaya once again highlights the  local ingredients grown on The Inn’s campus and showcase the property’s recent appointment of the first-ever Michelin Green Star in the US for sustainable gastronomy.

Head Baker Christian Capo has been a pastry chef at The Inn at Little Washington since 2020, delivering light, crisp, fresh, decadent and mouth-watering desserts and bakery items that have become a morning favorite among overnight guests during breakfast service.  At Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery, fresh-baked breads, croissants, Chef Patrick O’Connell’s famous granola and more will be available for dine-in and take-out throughout the day. Chef Capo’s confectionary pedigree includes work with Michelin-starred Fiola in Washington, DC as well as New York-based Dominique Ansel Kitchen and Bakery.

As the only female wine director of a three Michelin-starred restaurant in the United States, Lindsey Fern has developed the wine list at Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery to feature wines that tell a story with a focus on selections from new and interesting winemakers as well as local producers.

French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon has been working with the most iconic hotels in the world to create interiors seamlessly integrated with each property’s location, culture and history.  Drawing on Chef O’Connell’s inspiration from Parisian sidewalk cafés, the design for Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery blends traditional french elements with the playful charm The Inn at Little Washington is known for, including the bar mural by artist William Woodward that despics an intoxicating barn dance scene. The well landscaped exterior, blooming seasonally, is a white painted brick front with soft teal striped awnings and seating; white market umbrellas dot each of the outdoor tables.  Indoors, warm and nurturing tones of a more subdued green, wood and stone welcome guests to sit and enjoy a comforting meal – at the bar or fireside.  The adjoining bakery is bright and airy, white marble walls are complemented by the intricate designs of iron work displays.

Patty O’s Cafe & Bakery will also provide The Inn’s hotel guests – there are 23 individually appointed rooms, suites, cottages and houses – with additional dining experiences during their stay to complement the two tasting menus (one vegetarian) available at The Inn’s main dining room and Conservatory.  Custom in-room and outdoor dining experiences are available upon request and some accommodations offer chef kitchens.
