There is only one thing better than a Hwy 55 chocolate milkshake and that’s a free one, so Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries is honoring its middle name and the holiday by offering its famous handspun frozen custard milkshakes at no cost, just in time for National Chocolate Milkshake Day on September 12.
Anyone who downloads the My Hwy 55 app prior to the holiday will immediately receive a code that they can redeem for a free milkshake. Earlier this year, Hwy 55 successfully relaunched its loyalty program in order to give its fans more and better opportunities to earn and redeem points for rewards and prizes.
“Burgers and fries seem to get all of the buzz around here but we have the best shakes in the world and are excited to showcase them. They are made with the smoothest and creamiest frozen custard on earth,” said Hwy 55 president and founder Kenney Moore. “There’s a reason why we included shakes in the company name. It’s the perfect complement to our incredible burgers and fries.”
Hwy 55 milkshakes use homemade frozen custard, which is made daily and is smoother and creamier than regular ice cream. According to Moore, there’s a distinct difference between frozen custard and ice cream, due to a churning process that minimizes ice crystals and excess air. “Since it is freshly made, our custard is served at a temperature of 17-20 degrees, and is neither flash-frozen nor held at sub-zero temperatures. This allows the custard taste to really come through,” says Moore.
In addition to best-in-class shakes, Hwy 55 boasts a fresh, All-American diner experience with fresh, never-frozen burgers, premium sliced cheesesteaks piled high on steamed hoagies and frozen custard made in-house every day. With its open-grill design, the kitchen’s dedication and care when hand-crafting meals is front and center.
While celebrating its 26th year in business with 137 locations and growing, Hwy 55 has sold the rights to more than 1,000 franchise locations around the world. Hwy 55 has also signed franchise agreements for Texas, West Virginia, Louisiana, Kentucky and southern Indiana and Virginia in the past year. The brand plans to open approximately 25 locations in 2017.
