Applebee’s locations owned and operated by Flynn Group LP, announced a new cocktail celebrating the highly-anticipated total solar eclipse taking place on Monday, April 8. Almost as perfect as the eclipse itself, the ‘Perfect Eclipse’ Margarita blends Patrón Premium Silver Blanco Tequila and Citrónge Orange Liqueur with a dash of Monin Blue Raspberry, Passion Fruit and lemon and lime. Crafted by Applebee’s mixologists, the Perfect Eclipse Margarita will be available at Flynn Group Applebees’ locations for a limited time, beginning March 18 through April 14.
One of the most unique celestial events to ever happen in North America, the total solar eclipse will provide the approximate 31 million people in its path in the U.S. the opportunity to experience complete darkness when it travels from southwest to northeast. It will be the darkest and longest according to experts, giving onlookers the potential to see planets and even a comet during totality. The first location in North America that totality will be experienced is along Mexico’s Pacific coast, beginning around 11:07 a.m. PST. The path of the total eclipse will enter the U.S. first in Texas, and then progress through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. According to NASA, weather permitting, areas of Tennessee and Michigan may also experience the total solar eclipse.
“Eclipse experts agree the total solar eclipse taking place in April will be one for the history books,” said Dan Krebsbach, President of Flynn Applebee’s. “It’s expected to be the most watched in North America and one of the best we’ll see for hundreds of years. At Applebee’s, we think that’s something worth celebrating, and we’re excited by what our mixologists have created to help our guests mark the occasion – though they can rest assured that our Perfect Eclipse will last a little longer. We encourage eclipse lovers to get them while they’re here as the next one doesn’t take place until 2044.”
