Eggs Up Grill is wrapping up 2023 by breaking records in new restaurant openings, development commitments and sales growth, setting up an even bigger year ahead in 2024. This year, the better breakfast concept opened a record 12 new restaurants, including its first in Texas. The Brand signed 18 new franchise groups, adding more than 45 commitments to its development pipeline. Eggs Up Grill ends 2024 with 71 restaurants in operation and more than 100 under development or committed to open over the next decade.
“2023 was another great year for Eggs Up Grill as our franchise community continued to raise the bar, growing topline sales and profits while opening a record number of new locations. Our system’s average sales volume now exceeds $1.2 million and growing, with the top half carrying average sales of $1.5 million,” says Richardson. “With growing sales, the bottom line is growing as well. Richardson says same restaurants sales were up eight percent for the trailing 12 months, which will be commemorated at the upcoming franchise owners’ conference in January. Eggs Up Grill realized growth in guests counts and transactions in 2023, leveraging its proprietary guest data platform, amplifying catering outreach, offering attractive promotional activities and leveraging the impact of a slew of restaurant remodels.

Eggs Up Grill’s rapid franchise growth will include entering the new states of Mississippi and Ohio in 2024. These development deals brought industry veterans from Firehouse Subs, IHOP and Captain D’s to its franchise community. The Brand will also be expanding its footprint in Texas with a total of 12 restaurants planned for Houston and Austin, in addition to the ongoing expansion in the Dallas area. Other development agreements signed this year include 10 restaurants in Virginia with the largest Sports Clip franchisee, another 10 restaurants in Central North Carolina and two more in Florida.
Under Richardson’s leadership, Eggs Up Grill continues to attract top-tier talent and has doubled its brand team in 2023. The goal is to continue to expand the resources available to its franchisees, particularly when it comes to marketing and new restaurant development support. The Brand is also rolling out a proprietary, high-tech learning management system in January to better equip franchisees as they raise the performance of their teams.
