Conscious Hospitality Group, a leading hospitality group in the Pacific Northwest, announced the acquisition of Hap’s Burgers & Taps, the popular neighborhood gem known for its delicious, quality food, sustainable focus, and unique, retro vibe. Previously part of The Homegrown Group, Hap’s joins CHG with a shared commitment to sustainable ingredients and practices, community connection, and mindful dining.

CHG co-founders and Mercer Island natives Norman Wu and Danny Brawer are dedicated to reshaping the culinary landscape through restaurants that prioritize health, sustainability, and employees while cultivating a strong sense of community. CHG will honor Hap’s deep local roots, maintaining the restaurant’s name to acknowledge the founding Lightfoot family’s integral role in the growth and development of Mercer Island.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Hap’s into the CHG family of brands,” said Norman Wu, CEO and Co-Founder of Conscious Hospitality Group. “Danny and I have been frequent guests of Hap’s for years and we’re happy to be able to carry on a neighborhood tradition and destination for Hap’s fans, sharing a dining experience that honors tradition while delivering a fresh, new energy to every visit”.

Hap’s will continue to serve its beloved burgers, fries, shakes, and beer, made with organic produce, local grass-fed and pasture-raised beef, and organic sourdough sourced from Pacific Northwest vendors. The restaurant’s core recipes will remain the same, with the introduction of innovative new menu items, flavors, concepts, and trends on the horizon.

CHG is known for incubating and launching several successful food concepts across the Puget Sound and beyond with a vision for expansion that will make it one of the most impactful in our region. It is a growth engine for its own and other value-aligned concepts in the Pacific Northwest that seek to grow from one location to 50 and beyond.
