Meadow Neighborhood Eatery and Bar, a new restaurant concept promising a seasonal Texan menu with Southern influences, is set to open in San Antonio in September 2018. Created by Chef Patrick “PJ” Edwards (previously the Culinary Director for Contigo Restaurant group in Austin) and wife Lindsey Edwards (previously General Manager for the Jason Dady Restaurant Group), Meadow has been a culinary dream in the making for the San Antonio natives. The eatery will operate as a full service restaurant and neighborhood bar, rotating dishes to parallel what is truly in season in Texas. The restaurant was inspired by the opportunity to offer San Antonians on the north side of the city a farm-driven and seasonally shifting concept. The restaurant will be located in North Central San Antonio at The Alley on Bitters(in the space previously occupied by Jason Dady’s Tre Enoteca).

Meadow marks Chef Edwards’ first restaurant concept and the Texas-Southern menu will change based on seasonality. To develop the menu, Chef Edwards will work with local farmers andranchers. As the lush name suggests, the menu will feature plenty of farm fresh veggies and pickling will all be done in-house to preserve seasonality. Meadow’s menu will offer hearty options like its freshly ground burgers, fried chicken and charcoal grilled ribeye, as well as vegan/vegetarian options including fresh grilled okra and stewed field peas. Guests can also expect unique desserts like the peach calzone. A children’s menu containing classic comfort foods will also be available. Sunday brunch will host a mix of classics and inventive dishes such as poached eggs with grits and creamed corn fritters.

Meadow’s welcoming bar will include a range of local craft beer, wine and cocktails. There will be an inviting patio, cozy lounge with couches and chairs, and a spacious dining room. Meadow’s design will have a natural look filled with warm colors and mostly wooden décor. From the dining room patrons can peek into the live fire kitchen, making it an exciting spot to stop in for a bite to eat or enjoy a drink with friends, family or neighbors.

“I’m eager to fulfill this culinary dream in San Antonio and bring a farm-driven concept to the community I’ve always considered home,” says Chef PJ Edwards, owner of Meadow. “Meadow will serve as a reliable neighborhood restaurant, it has something for everybody.”

To give patrons a sneak peek into the menu, Meadow will host several pop-ups before it officially opens. Meadow has two confirmed pop-up events planned at Cullum’s Attagirl on July 23 and August 6 at 6:00 p.m., menu coming soon. Additional pop-ups are being planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Meadow is located on 555 W Bitters Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216. Meadow will be open six days a week, with initial hours of operation being Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Sunday brunch from 10a.m. to 2p.m. The restaurant will be closed on Mondays.

An official opening date will be announced at later date.
