As Governor Ivey announced the expansion of reopening plans for Alabama, Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar in Hoover set its sights on a grand opening in July. While the exact date is yet to be determined, owners of the newest Big Whiskey’s franchise determined that responsibly opening was the right call. A representative for the ownership group said of the opening, “Governor Ivey’s recommendations were clear and we felt that we can open safely and that our community could use some positive momentum. We’re ready to do what we do best: feed people exceptional food and provide a great atmosphere to break bread with family and friends.”

Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar is located in the new Stadium Trace Village in Hoover, AL, next to Hoover Metropolitan Complex. The location is ideal for the restaurant and bar concept, with the owners stating “The development is perfect for our family friendly sports bar, being just down the street from Hoover Metropolitan Complex and right near plenty of residential developments.” Big Whiskey’s Hoover is already fully staffed, employing 106 staff members including cooks, servers, hosts, bartenders and dishwashers. The staff will begin training in the next few weeks for the July opening. Applications are always encouraged and can be submitted for any position anytime on bigwhiskeys.com

Austin Herschend, president of Big Whiskey’s Enterprises, says of the upcoming opening “We couldn’t be more excited to see the new Big Whiskey’s in Hoover open. From day one we felt like Hoover was the perfect community for a Big Whiskey’s. We’re really looking forward to seeing how the town responds to us. The owners have a beautiful restaurant in the perfect location, they’re totally set for success.” The new restaurant features an expansive patio, spacious dining rooms with the option for open air seating thanks to two garage doors, a private dining room that seats roughly 30, as well as a sizable bar area with plenty of large TVs. While Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar sold its first franchise more than three years ago, the Hoover location marks the first ground-up build of a prototype store.

The ownership group has planned its opening to coordinate with the limited occupancy and social distancing limits set forth by Governor Ivey, however plans will be adjusted accordingly throughout the upcoming weeks. In addition to dine-in, ordering from bigwhiskeys.com will be available for curbside pickup, in-store pickup and delivery for those who still feel safest at home.
