The National Restaurant Association announced Monday that Procter & Gamble Professional will be a multi-year sponsor of National Food Safety Month (NFSM), the Association’s industry-wide food safety awareness initiative. NFSM, held annually in September, was created in 1994 by the Association to heighten awareness about the importance of food safety education.

“We are pleased to welcome P&G Professional to our food safety family,” says Dawn Sweeney, president and CEO of the National Restaurant Association. “Our commitment to food safety and training for the industry shines through our nationwide ServSafe certification program and NFSM continues to be a successful way to promote industry awareness. Our new sponsorship with P&G Professional highlights the synergy between our two organizations in providing clean, safe environments for American diners.”

Now in its 22nd year, the extensive, industry-wide campaign offers free resources for foodservice industry professionals.

“P&G Professional understands the critical role that cleaning products and suppliers play in protecting guests and employees against food borne illnesses, and we are proud to be a sponsor of National Food Safety Month,” adds Paul Edmondson, commercial director, P&G Professional.  “Cleanliness is the first thing guests notice and it can also help boost a restaurant’s image and drive revenue by improving repeat business and loyalty.”
