Atlanta Foodservice Expo (AFSE) announced a relocation of the event to the Cobb Galleria Centre. The 2016 event will now be held September 19–20.

The decision to move the event, which had its first three editions at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta, was primarily due to a high demand from exhibitors and attendees alike who prefer the convenience of a venue outside of the downtown area.

With further discussions among industry leaders, the consensus remains that moving to the Cobb Galleria Centre will allow for easier event access for the local foodservice industry and significant growth in both exhibitor and attendee numbers. Additional benefits such as free parking also contributed to the decision.

“We have seen good support among the industry over the first three years of the event, but there is still a significant audience that we are not getting to the show. While the Georgia World Congress Center was a tremendous partner and supporter, the local industry continues to tell us that moving the show outside of downtown will create a larger draw of attendees due to the ease of getting in and out of the facility more quickly. After three years of not seeing the growth expected, we are making the decision to move the event to enable Atlanta Foodservice Expo grow to the size and scope we know it can be,” says Stephanie Everett, partner and COO, Exposition Development Company, Inc.

Georgia Restaurant Association, ACF Atlanta Chefs Association, Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association, and Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance, the key supporters of the show, are all in agreement with the move and excited about the new opportunities it will bring to the event.

Atlanta Foodservice Expo is the only event in Georgia to bring together under one roof all sectors of the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality industries with a broad range of the best suppliers.
