Plans are now in motion to open the first Boston location of Tuscan Kitchen & Market in the Seaport District by Summer 2017. The growing artisan Italian restaurant & marketplace concept with successful locations across New England will bring its freshly baked breads, handmade pastas, homespun gelato, and imported Italian groceries to One Seaport Square, the largest mixed-use project in the city of Boston in 30 years. Spanning 3 acres, the development is bordered by Seaport Boulevard, Northern Avenue, Sleeper Street, and Fan Pier Boulevard.

“Opening Tuscan Kitchen & Market in Boston is an exciting homecoming for me. This is where I got my start in the food business, selling handmade pastas to the city’s best chefs more than 25 years ago,” says Tuscan Brands founder Joe Faro. “We are excited to share the artisan Italian experience of scratch-made cooking using time-honored techniques that is the hallmark of Tuscan Kitchen & Market. Our neighborhood restaurant & market will be a place for Seaport residents and visitors alike to eat, drink, and shop their way through Italy’s diverse regional cuisine.”

Tuscan Kitchen & Market will occupy a 14,500-square foot space on the second floor of One Seaport Square. The 320-seat restaurant will serve regional Italian cuisine like wood roasted caponata from Sicily, beautiful rustic breads from Puglia, super thin crust pizza from Napoli, and fresh tagliatelle from Bologna, with a gorgeous outdoor bar and terrace overlooking Seaport Boulevard. Adjacent to the restaurant will be the market, featuring a café & pasticceria with grab and go items, as well as a fully stocked emporium of in-house aged meats, cheeses, imported Italian grocery items, freshly baked breads, pastas, sauces, gelato, and more. The Seaport Square location will be the fourth for Faro’s Tuscan Kitchen & Market, following openings in Salem, New Hampshire, in 2010, Burlington, Massachusetts, in 2014, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in Summer 2016.

Tuscan Kitchen & Market joins ShowPlace ICON Theatre, Equinox, Kings Bowl, and Big Night Entertainment at One Seaport Square. The prestigious mixed-use development is located on 3 acres of land within the 23-acre Seaport Square. It will encompass two towers, 22 and 20 stories, respectively, named The Benjamin and VIA. Between the first three floors of the two towers, there is a total of 250,000 square feet of retail space and 832 luxury apartments on their remaining floors. The project also has plans for Courthouse Square, a 17,000-square-foot, retail-lined open space that will serve as a pedestrian link between the buildings, the MBTA Courthouse Station-and the Moakley Federal Courthouse. Berkshire Group has partnered with Boston Global Investors (BGI) to own and develop the residential component of One Seaport Square. WS Development will develop, own and manage the retail component of One Seaport Square. Both towers are designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, and will qualify for LEED Silver Certification
