Matchbox Food Group has announced the further expansion of its matchbox restaurant to Texas with an initial Dallas location planned for Preston Hollow Village. This will be the first restaurant in the Lone Star State for the Washington-DC based group. Co-owners Drew Kim and Mark and Ty Neal have a goal of extending the American bistro brand to 48 restaurants nationwide by 2020.

matchbox will make its Texas debut in Preston Hollow Village with an 8,250-square foot dining space and a large outdoor patio. With upwards of 350 seats, the restaurant will feature a vibrant, comfortable atmosphere where guests can expect great service and refined, casual food. Warm tones, exposed brick, and wood accented interiors will bring high-energy to the spacious restaurant. matchbox will accompany a mix of restaurants, salons, and high-end fitness studios in the 42-acre development.

The restaurant will feature recognizable bistro fare favorites focused on wood-fired pizzas cooked in custom-built masonry ovens at 800 degrees. The signature crispy crust is a recipe that the group has been perfecting at locations in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and California for more than ten years. Along with Angus burgers and a wide array of freshly prepared sandwiches, these popular dishes have played a major role in expanding Matchbox Food Group’s loyal customer base. The Dallas location is one of eight locations the award-winning restaurant group will launch in 2016, accompanied by locations in Northern Virginia and South Florida.

“We are thrilled for the Dallas community to experience our innovative concept and bring our contemporary twist on the traditional wood-fired pizzeria to all who live, work, and play in the area,” says Ty Neal, CEO of Matchbox Food Group. ”This is just the beginning of our continued effort to bring our culture and commitment to culinary quality to diners around the U.S.”
