Chef Fabio Viviani's creation makes a fantastic multi-daypart dish guests will love.

This dish makes a perfect addition to breakfast, lunch, and dessert menus according to Chef Fabio Viviani.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1⁄3cup sugar, plus 1½ tbsp

1 tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

1 stick cold butter, cut into large cubes

1½ cups buttermilk

1 cup coarsely grated Grana Padano

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup sliced strawberries

1 tbsp Gran Marnier

¼ tsp orange zest

1 cup heavy cream whipped to soft peaks 

Directions

1. Pre-heat oven to 400 F. In medium bowl, combine flour, 1⁄3 cup sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add butter, incorporating it into dry ingredients with a pastry blender until mixture is the size of peas. Add buttermilk and half of the cheese. Stir until just combined.

2. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough into 1-inch thick circle. With a biscuit cutter, cut 2½-inch rounds. Place rounds 1 inch apart on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining ½ cup cheese and pepper. Bake 7–10 minutes, or until golden brown.

3. In medium bowl, combine strawberries, Grand Marnier, orange zest, and remaining 1½ tablespoons sugar. Serve biscuits with berries and cream.

Creates 10-12 servings.
