According to a nationwide consumer preference survey, gelato is now the second-most-popular frozen dessert. To help operators satisfy America’s growing interest, Dannon YoCream is adding two new flavors to expand its line to five soft-serve gelato frozen dairy dessert offerings.

The initial three gelato flavors were launched in August 2015 and have already become top sellers in the Dannon YoCream portfolio, which includes more than 75 products. Positive operator feedback on product taste and quality as well as creatively impactful marketing materials support Dannon’s decision to further invest in more gelato options.

The expanded line now includes five delicious, Italian-style gelatos:

  • New Banana Flambé
  • New Creamy Limoncello
  • Hazelnut
  • Pistachio
  • Chocolate

With a rich taste and dense texture, Dannon YoCream’s gelato has 7 percent butterfat, making it three times as creamy as low-fat frozen yogurt options. Food service professionals are encouraged to serve through standard froyo equipment or to mix and match flavor placements, creating exciting pairings and combinations for patrons.

Andy Bantz, national director, frozen division, of Dannon Food Service, says, “The initial gelato line was a highly successful product launch. We received a great deal of positive feedback, so it was important for us to continue to support our customers with the innovative products and impactful tools to help them grow their business. The Dannon YoCream gelato line now has five delicious, on-trend flavors to attract new happy customers and to meet the increased demand for this creamy, Italian-style frozen dessert.”
