Kerry Foodservice revealed a fresh new look for Oregon Chai packaging. In addition, the company proudly announces that five of its 32-ounce chai tea concentrates are now Non-GMO Project Verified.

The five flavors of Oregon Chai 32-ounce concentrates that now feature the official Non-GMO Project Verified seal include: best-selling The Original, Caffeine Free, Slightly Sweet, Salted Caramel, and Vanilla. Foodservice operators can be proud to serve these chai products that meet the growing consumer demand for non-GMO and natural products.

The non-GMO market is expected to double by 2019.1 Last year alone, global sales of non-GMO products reached $550 billion, and sales reached $200 billion in the United States.2 The Non-GMO Project is the leading independent verifier of these foods in North America. To receive the Non-GMO Project Verified seal, a product must undergo significant testing to ensure all at-risk ingredients are properly handled and below a 0.9 percent GMO threshold.

“We are excited and proud to announce this achievement in conjunction with a fresh new look,” says Angela George, marketing manager for Kerry. “Our new packaging design further demonstrates our commitment to transparency, originality, sustainability, natural ingredients and great tasting chai.”

Along with the design refresh comes a new easy to open HeliCap—available on all 32-ounce concentrates. The HeliCap is a screw top opening that provides a more secure closure in addition to a more reliable reseal and a smoother product flow for foodservice operators.

The new packaging began hitting distribution in July and will continue to roll out through the end of 2016. No changes were made to product formulas or item numbers.
