James J. McIntyre, president and CEO of the Greenheck Group, announced the appointment of Damon Childers as president of Accurex (a Greenheck entity that manufactures quality, innovative products for complete energy efficient kitchen ventilation systems). Childers will assume his role July 28.

Childers comes to his position at Accurex after a 31-year career in the food service and retail sales industry. For the past three years, he has been executive vice president of Heritage Food Service Group, Inc. (HFS), Fort Wayne, Indiana. Prior to his association with HFS, Childers, age 48, had a 17-year career with Illinois Tool Works (ITW), Glenview, Illinois. He joined ITW following college graduation and during his career there was consistently promoted into roles of increasing responsibility in three different ITW entities: Hobart, Baster, and Ibex. All are focused on the food service industry. Prior to joining ITW, Damon worked at The Kroger Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1985-1996.

A native of Texas, Childers earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas and earned an MBA from Webster University, St. Louis. Childers has been an adjunct instructor at Maricopa Community College, Phoenix, Arizona, in marketing and brand promotion.

Childers, his wife Laura, and family reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Commenting on Childers’s appointment, McIntyre says, “I am extremely pleased that Damon is joining our leadership team. Under Damon’s guidance, we envision Accurex moving on to new levels of success in the years ahead.”
