Iron Hill Brewery (Iron Hill) claimed a Gold Award for 30 E. Stout St at the 2023 World Beer Cup in the Sweet Stout or Cream Stout category. The World Beer Cup is a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers.

Ken Orner, Head Brewer at Iron Hill, brewed the winning batch of 30 E. Stout St. Named after the charming main street near his hometown, where Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Media serves locals daily, 30 E. Stout St (5.6% ABV) is a classic Milk Stout abound with pleasant notes of rich chocolate from roasted malts, complete with a smooth silky finish. Available as a rotating seasonal beer on draft, it is currently on tap for a limited time at Iron Hill in Media, PA.

“Starting as a homebrewer, it is such an honor to now have earned a Gold Award for 30 E. Stout St at World Beer Cup,” says Ken Orner, Brewer at Iron Hill Brewery in Media, PA. “In 2019, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and therefore have never even been able to sip my winning beer! As a brewer that cannot have gluten, I rely heavily on following processes to a T and occasionally require the assistance of my peers to taste the beer during the brew process to see if I need to make any adjustments. Winning Gold is truly something I never imagined.”

Awards were given in 103 beer-style categories during the World Beer Cup award ceremony on May 10, 2023, at the Music City Center in Nashville. World Beer Cup winners were selected by an international panel of 272 beer judges from 26 countries. Widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer,” the 2023 World Beer Cup featured 10,213 entries from 2,376 breweries in 51 countries.

Since first entering competitions in 1997, Iron Hill Brewery has won 34 awards at World Beer Cup and 50 medals at the Great American Beer Festival.
