Thompson Hospitality, the largest minority-owned restaurant management company in the country, announced another location to its expanding portfolio with the opening of Milk & Honey at The Wharf, in Washington D.C, the distinctive waterfront destination. Known for its take on New Orleans specialties and decadent brunch options, this new location stands out by offering an updated spin on their beloved favorites, with inventive flavor combinations and plating offered in a grand atmosphere overlooking the D.C. waterfront. This opening marks the family-run restaurant group’s tenth Milk & Honey location and first of two Thompson Hospitality locations joining The Wharf Project, a $3.6 Billion development that has transformed the Southwest Waterfront in the city featuring a variety of hotels, restaurants, live music venues, fish markets, parks and more.

“We are thrilled to bring Milk & Honey to The Wharf – Thompson Hospitality’s first location in this exciting new development,” says Warren Thompson, President and Founder of Thompson Hospitality. “The Wharf brings so much vibrancy and opportunity for connection to the community and we’re ecstatic to be a part of the buzz.”

Milk & Honey specializes in Louisiana-inspired dishes from Executive Chef Chadrick Roberts and beloved Chef Sammy Davis, with fan favorites such as Chef Sammy’s Award-Winning Shrimp & Grits and Jumbo Smothered Chicken & Biscuits. According to the Director of Operations, Zandrique Harrold, this new location will be the “grown and sexy version” of the Milk & Honey everyone knows and loves, offering fresh new menu items such as their Vegan Junk Food with candied carrots, tempura battered asparagus, crispy brussels sprouts, and portobello mushrooms, Blackened Salmon BLT, and Berry French Toast with vanilla infused cornflake crusted challah bread served with mixed berries and fresh Chantilly cream. Milk & Honey’s full bar and cocktail menu is coming soon.

With floor-to-ceiling windows and modern, updated features, the atmosphere is contemporary and comfortable, specifically designed to match The Wharf’s dynamic atmosphere and showcase the waterfront’s beautiful views. The spacious property allows for 100 seated guests at a time with the ability to accommodate medium-to-large-sized parties. With an emphasis on stellar service and a personal touch for every guest, Milk & Honey at The Wharf makes every occasion feel special, for returning and first-time diners alike.
