Melting Pot is proud to announce its recent St. Jude Thanks and Giving fundraising initiative, held from mid-October through December 31, 2022, raised more than $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, increasing the fondue restaurant’s support of the St. Jude mission to more than $16 million in almost two decades of giving.

St. Jude Thanks and Giving is a hallmark campaign that Melting Pot supports every holiday season. Because of the generous support from Melting Pot, other partners and donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.

During the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, guests who donated $10 to St. Jude received a $20 Donate and Dine card for a future meal at the fondue restaurant. The campaign exceeded its goal of raising $1 million, with an end total of $1.06 million.

“We are incredibly grateful for Melting Pot’s two decades of partnership and the dedication of their guests and employees to the St. Jude mission,” said Richard C. Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Melting Pot’s longtime commitment helps make it possible for St. Jude to accelerate its ongoing efforts to help more of the 400,000 children worldwide with cancer and other life-threatening diseases each year.”

The million-dollar milestone is getting an extra-special celebration from Bob Johnston, CEO of Melting Pot parent company Front Burner Brands. Johnston shaved his head in front of the Melting Pot team, making good on his promise to shave if the team raised $1 million during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign.

“We’re proud that our St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign was such a success,” said Johnston. “Thanks to our restaurants and loyal guests, Melting Pot has been able to make an important impact through donations that will truly make a difference for St. Jude patients and families. We look forward to celebrating 20 years of dedication in 2023 to a cause so close to our hearts.”

The holiday campaign was the most recent fundraiser Melting Pot has activated with funds benefiting St. Jude. Others include:

  1. St. Jude Walk/Run: Every September, the Melting Pot Restaurant Support Center fields a team and coordinates nationwide locations where supporters can join.
  2. Wafer Program: This year-round project donates $1 from every box of Melting Pot wafers sold.
  3. Forever Fondue, Forever St. Jude:  New in 2022, the initiative was part of the Forever Fondue Limited Time promotion with a simple request for donations from Melting Pot guests.

Melting Pot’s support for St. Jude continued even in times of hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, with restaurants operating at limited capacity, Melting Pot and its restaurants raised more than $560,000 for St. Jude Thanks and Giving. In 2021, they exceeded their goal of $800,000 raising more than $901,000.
