Beloved pizza concept Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is gearing up to celebrate 20 years since its expansion beyond New York to neighborhoods across the U.S., with celebrations beginning in February and continuing throughout 2023.
Grimaldi’s first location outside of New York opened in Scottsdale, AZ on February 14, 2003, and continues to be one of its busiest locations. The Scottsdale opening marked the beginning of the brand’s successful expansion to neighborhoods across the country, which currently includes over 40 locations in 11 states. Over the past two decades, Grimaldi’s has become a household name recognized for its traditional coal-fired, brick oven pizza and casual, yet upscale New York-themed restaurants. Key to the brand’s success is its continued commitment to pizza-making traditions originating in Brooklyn over 100 years ago.
“We are thrilled to have reached this incredible milestone of 20 years thanks to the support of our guests, team members and partners,” says Grimaldi’s Pizzeria CEO Joseph Ciolli. “We are looking forward to celebrating throughout our anniversary year, and to continue to expand to new neighborhoods to share our signature pizzas, calzones, cocktails and cheesecakes.”
To kick off its anniversary in style, Grimaldi’s is excited announce the launch of its Garden Ranch Salad: a bed of Romaine lettuce topped with oven roasted sweet red peppers, red onion, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, coal-oven baked croutons and ranch dressing. Continuing throughout the year, guests can expect other inventive new menu additions, including items that pay homage to the brand’s roots in New York City, including a specialty anniversary celebration cheesecake and more.
In addition, Grimaldi’s has planned monthly giveaways throughout 2023. The first such promotion, the Margherita Margarita Giveaway, began on January 13th. Now through March 6, guests can enter to win one of two grand prize packs, including a 1800 Tequila Yeti Cooler, a Casamigos Tequila Polaroid Camera, a Margaritaville Frozen Drink Maker and a $100 Grimaldi’s gift. Grimaldi’s will continue to announce not-to-miss monthly giveaways throughout the year such as free pizza for a year, and more.
Beyond celebrating its 20th year milestone this year, Grimaldi’s plans to continue growing and serving new communities, including opening two new restaurants in Texas and one in Kansas, and will also be making a series of exciting franchise announcements.
