In an effort to support the operational well-being of its existing franchisees, while also catering to potential future tech-savvy operators, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is making its largest technological investment in brand history.

The award-winning brand is revamping its technological partnerships to invest in the future health of the brand’s infrastructure while also improving the existing guest experience. Walk-On’s is implementing a systemwide aggregator to consolidate third party orders, partnering with Lunchbox to upgrade its online ordering platform and guest loyalty program, and introducing a partnership with Toast to level up its point of sale (POS) management system. Toast is a cloud-based, all-in-one digital technology platform purpose-built for restaurants.

“Investing in your tools is investing in your employees, guests and franchisees. Technological advancement is the wave of the future in every business, and our goal is to position Walk-On’s as the forefront leader in operational cohesiveness for the restaurant industry,” says Walk-On’s Vice President of Technology, Jared Hinshaw.

Walk-On’s new loyalty program and app, designed by Lunchbox, are scheduled to launch in the first half of 2023 with an improved interface and back-end integration that will create a more seamless user experience for guests and operators alike.

“They’ve reigned as the top sports restaurant in the country. They’ve scaled to over 70 locations across 14 states. Now they’re leading the digital food space with Lunchbox.” says Lunchbox CEO and Cofounder, Nabeel Alamgir. “The online guest experience is non-negotiable for restaurants. Not only is Walk-On’s leading the space, investing in the look and feel of their guests’ digital ordering experience, but they’re also scaling out every end of their technology and marketing.”

Continuing with marked enhancements to the guest experience, Walk-On’s is also partnering with BOWEN to modernize the brand’s website presence and streamline the online ordering experience.

In addition to the upgraded Toast POS system, Walk-On’s is installing Toast Kitchen Display System (KDS), connecting its front of house with kitchen staff for enhanced kitchen efficiency, and rolling out Toast Go 2 mobile handheld POS devices for tableside and curbside use at current and future locations. With Toast Go 2 and Toast KDS, ordering is streamlined and items are fired directly to the KDS as soon as a guest orders, helping to improve speed of service, serve more guests with fewer staff, and provide more efficient customer service for guests.

Walk-On’s will implement a phased rollout across all current locations throughout 2023 and begin immediate implementation at all new restaurants in their development pipeline.
