Dahl Restaurant Group, led by award-winning chef-owner Lisa Dahl, will host the first Mystical Pizza Festival to celebrate the opening of her second Pisa Lisa location in Sedona’s Village of Oak Creek. The three-day festival will run from Friday, September 16th through Sunday, September 18th to showcase an out-of-this-world pizza themed party, Sedona style while also honoring the revered fare and exercising special rituals to spread goodwill across the hospitality industry.

Mystical Pizza Fest will kick-off on Friday evening with a flying saucer unveiling, drum ceremony conducted by Sabrina Sandoval, surprises from roving magician and Yo-Yo Master Michael Steele, a pizza dough ribbon cutting ceremony with esteemed guests including President and CEO of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau Michelle Conway, and a special blessing from Havasupai Medicine Man, Uqualla, over the mosaic covered Mugnaini pizza ovens to honor the hospitality community as a whole. Wine and pizza are sure to keep spirits high as moonlight is harnessed to supply energy on the eve of the fair on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend carnival will feature a variety of sensational attractions including Orgone Knights’ crystal healing pyramids curated to turn negative energy into positive energy; sound therapy, chair massages, and red light therapy from Sedona Infinity Spa & Wellness Center’s Gigi Rock; imaginative creations from Silhouette artist Kevin Overhulser; and readings into the future via Astrologer Valentina Leyshyk, Madam V. The entire family, including Fido, is invited to partake in the Sedona magic at Mystical Pizza Fest! Furry family members will savor the doggie meatball tasting and are welcome to relax under the tender touch of Lori Lane from Raven’s Call Healing Center who will provide pets with reiki, animal massages and sound healing. Guests are encouraged to dress in strictly mystical attire and come ready with cell phones fully charged for photo-ops with the giant pizza themed photo stand in-board designed by Ann Rhinehart, which will be revealed on Friday evening. Lisa Dahl and her dedicated team at Dahl Restaurant Group have curated a weekend of events under the direction of Marlo Johnson of Oak Creek Arts & Crafts Shows to make memories Sedona-style and create positive vibrations for the Sedona and hospitality communities, while celebrating the opening of their second Pisa Lisa restaurant.

“Our mystical pizza fest gives me the chance to share my passion for pizza, family, friends, and my beloved home of Sedona, while channeling energy to spread goodwill to the entire hospitality industry beyond the Red Rocks,” says Dahl. “Our vision is to launch our new Pisa Lisa restaurant with an event that our entire community can enjoy. The weekend’s activities will feature some of our area’s most talented healers and entertainers—this will be a blast. If ever there was a perfect Sedona blast, this will be it! We just might turn it into an annual event!”

Pisa Lisa, named after an affectionate term coined by Dahl’s late father who often lovingly pinched his daughter while saying that he wanted “a little piece of Lisa,” is ripe with references to Chef’s family, friends and favorite tunes. The first location opened in West Sedona in 2013 and instantly became a must-visit destination for tourists as well as a fixture in the local community, serving as a casual stop for wood-fired thin crust pizzas, fresh organic salads with inspired dressings, tapas, and locally made artisan gelato. Popular food selections are named after family members. The Da Dorothy pizza, named after Dahl’s mother, is made with Mother sauce, provolone-mozzarella, fennel sausage, picante peppers, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and the Justino pizza, dedicated to her late son, is made with Ricotta, provolone-mozzarella, San Danielle prosciutto gold, organic arugula, and white truffle oil. Dahl’s Mystical Pizza Fest will include samples of her delectable tomato bisque soup, wood-fired roasted tapas, and heavenly gelato from one of the event’s sponsors, Villa Dolce.

Pisa Lisa Village of Oak Creek will keep her doors open to customers while the festival buzzes outdoors. With an industrial look and hip aesthetic, the restaurant offers 110 seats including an outdoor patio, two communal artisan-style butcher board tables, and an elevated bar–all designed to encourage camaraderie and good times for all. When designing the space, Dahl designated an 8-foot vintage chandelier, fitted with hand-blown glass and LED lights made by sculptor Dale Evers, as a central focal point. An eclectic collection of Rock ‘n’ Roll memorabilia from the 60s, 70s, and 80s were sourced by Dahl’s brother Jay Levinson from a Capitol Records executive, providing a lyrical vibe and setting the backdrop to the upbeat theme of Mystical Pizza Fest.
