Kura Sushi USA, an innovative and tech-interactive Japanese restaurant concept built on authentic cuisine and served with a revolving sushi service model, announced the implementation of new technology features at all 37 restaurant locations that enhance the guest experience. These initiatives include delivery robots dubbed Kur-B the KuraBot and new table tablet features with self-checkout and drink ordering function.

Kur-B the KuraBot welcomes guests by delivering their ordered drinks and condiments tableside. Once waitstaff receive a notification about a party’s drink order, they place the beverages, soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger on Kur-B and program it to deliver to the corresponding table. This new element also allows more time for servers to engage and check-in with customers.

“We are thrilled to provide our guests with new interactive technologies that enhance their dining experiences with Kur-B the KuraBot delivery robots that bring beverages and condiments tableside and a new touch panel tablet features that include an added drink menu and self-service checkout,” says Hideto Sugimoto, director of system and menu development at Kura Sushi USA. “Our unique restaurant service model serves to bring Japanese culture and tradition to our guests through a stimulating experience with authentic Japanese dishes and conveyor belt technology, as it’s enjoyed in Japan. We are continually looking for new developments to enrich the guest experience and are elated to be able to bring these new elements to our eatertainment restaurants.”

Prior to the new table tablet functions, guests used to give their drink orders to servers and use the tablet to place their food orders for delivery on the Express Belt, purchase Bikkura Pon prizes, call for assistance and check out. Now guests can place their drink orders and check out on their mobile phone, limiting their wait times for service and providing more options for how they want to experience Kura Revolving Sushi Bar.
