The James Room, Atlanta’s buzzing BeltLine cocktail lounge, will expand its footprint with a second location set to open as a pop-up at Buckhead Village later this summer. Rising star restaurateur Aaron Mattison, who also operates Ponce City Market’s Bar Vegan and pop-up Excuse My French, partnered with Harold Brinkley, owner of The James Room on the BeltLine, to bring the concept to Buckhead Village. Featuring more space to accommodate the exploding popularity of the bar, the Buckhead installation will serve up the same “vibe dining” style as its original outpost – striking the perfect balance between an upbeat cocktail lounge and a sensorial gustatory experience that’s heavily rooted in hospitality, elegance and fun. The Buckhead pop-up will also debut with a large rooftop lounge overlooking the heart of the neighborhood.

With the cocktail program at center stage, guests will experience a soaring selection of energetic drinks in the form of perfected classics, seasonal standouts and an arsenal of beautifully garnished, robust and complex libations including the Sidecar with Remy Martin 1738, mathilde xo orange liqueur, lemon juice & simple syrup, the Angry Pina Margarita with tanteo jalapeno tequila, lime juice, giffard banana liqueur, giffard pineapple liqueur, jalapeno agave nectar & pineapple juice and Like A Jungle with Bacardi cuatro rum, martini & rossi fiero, chinola passion fruit liqueur, demerara syrup & lime juice. The moody destination’s anchoring beverage program shines alongside an equally elevated bar menu featuring a revolving collection of chef-driven small plates like balsamic raspberry lamb chops, vegan meatballs, shrimp crudité and a selection of charcuterie board offerings.

“Our eating and drinking experiences are largely defined by the interplay of all five senses,” says Brinkley. “As much as music plays a large part in the process, it’s equally as much about interior design and food presentation aesthetics, tactile impressions like room temperature and food texture, physical comfort and even the color of the napkins. Our goal is to capture all of those elements while still making sure it’s fun and welcoming. We’re excited to bring a space to Buckhead that’s aesthetically on brand for the area, but also high spirited without compromising its sophistication.”

The third floor interior space and outdoor balcony is set to occupy 5,243-square-feet across from Shake Shack and will evoke a chic French and Italian-inspired aesthetic complete with dark wood, hints of leather and rustic artwork paired with radiant chandeliers with soft ambient lighting, subtle feminine highlights and of course, the brand’s signature playlists and meticulous musical programming. In addition to the indoor space, the concept will offer a rooftop patio serving up the same great energy with a view of the city.

The James Room at Buckhead Village will be located at 3009 Peachtree Street NE on the third floor of the building serving dinner and late-night Wednesday through Sunday.
