A popup restaurant inspired by Tupac Shakur’s life and legacy is set to open for a limited time in LA across from the Wake Me When I’m Free Museum exhibit about Tupac at the LA Live, according to The Source.

Powamekka Café, a concept that Tupac’s estate discovered in his notes from before he died, has had popup stores before. In 2017, the restaurant temporarily opened in John Seymour and Nas’ Sweet Chick in the Lower East Side of New York. There was also a location in Fresno, California.

“Tupac’s creative vision was limitless,” his estate’s trustee said at the time, according to AllHipHop. “He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film. One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant; he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Café to life.”

In notes found by Tupac’s family after his death, the rapper outlined the idea as a place to “play and parlay,” according to Eater. 

Now, the restaurant is coming to LA in June in partnership with Fixins Soul Kitchen. Customers can expect Southern comfort food like fried chicken wings, gumbo, and meatloaf if they visit the experience..

The restaurant will be decorated with Tupac memorabilia, including the notebooks that first mentioned his idea for the Powamekka Café.

Powamekka Café will be open June 16 through June 30 for lunch and dinner.
